Superior Debt Relief will expand its online presence and reach out to clients through social media to tackle the stigma surrounding debt settlement and to create an online support community. 

Although the debt settlement company has had a Facebook page and Twitter account for several years, it’s embarking on a new campaign to encourage clients and others in the debt community to join in shared conversation and for financial tips, encouragement and support.

The company believes bringing clients of debt negotiation together will provide consumers a resource and help ease the fears and apprehensions often associated with this type of aggressive debt relief program.

“Social media is important because it allows us to reach out to struggling consumers, connect, educate and ultimately, assist them in eradicating their debt,” said Tom Thomas, Superior’s master in information systems.

Superior Debt Relief believes that establishing relationships and trust with clients extends to social media.

“We believe that social media is the future,” said Alyssa Bradford, vice president of Superior Debt Relief Services. “There are many people who use social media trying to find support as they face debt.”

Superior plans to include more interactive features, open forums for discussion, relevant news, current settlement statistics and a commitment to quick responses. They hope to expand participation and improve the public’s perception of the often-misunderstood industry.
