Latitude Image Launches an Aerial Photography Archive covering 4,500 cities in Europe

By: PRLog
PR Log - Mar 16, 2012 - Latitude Image has recently launched an exclusive Aerial Photo Stock portal to address the growing demand of aerial images for editorial and creative purposes. At present Latitude Image offers aerial stock photos of over 4,500 cities in 20 European countries.

The images have been provided by Latitude Image’s first partner, Blom, a leading European service provider in the acquisition and modeling of geographic information.

The project has taken over 3 years and the photo campaigns have involved more than 12 aircraft covering different regions simultaneously. All images were taken from a bird’s eye view (45º angle) from a fixed altitude. The collection will be updated from similar campaigns every summer. The target is to obtain a geographical coverage corresponding to 80% of Europe’s population.

The resulting imagery is being extensively used in major internet based mapping and Location Based Services applications. Latitude Image’s role has been to select and post-process images and create what is now the most comprehensive and up to date image bank of European cities.

The collection may be viewed at www.latitudeimage.com
