Logica Accelerates Real-Time Transformation of Data to Actionable Business Information with StreamInsight™

Today, Logica announced Accelerators for Microsoft Corporation’s StreamInsight™, a comprehensive solution that enables quick implementation of robust and highly efficient StreamInsight™-based applications, allowing customers to transform data into actionable business information in real time. StreamInsight™ is a powerful, cost-effective Complex Event Processing (CEP) capability included in SQL Server 2008 R2 and later versions. It provides a high-throughput stream processing architecture and .NET-based development environment.

Data-driven industries require agility to respond in real time to changing business conditions. The Logica Accelerators solution facilitates the rapid build, deployment and management of real-time analytics applications – regardless of the data’s source, relationship, or destination. Large, simultaneous streams of data are read and interpreted “in-stream” rather than post-storage, accelerating decision-making. The latency associated with the traditional BI approach of acquisition, filtering, compression, indexing, and storing is reduced to milliseconds, even with tens-of-thousands events per second. StreamInsight™ combined with Logica’s Accelerators allows customers to reduce the time required for data cleansing, analysis and event detection to milliseconds rather than hours or days.

Accelerators for StreamInsight™ add to the capabilities provided by StreamInsight™. Fast, lightweight applications built on this open independent platform can easily be deployed via Cloud Service, in surveillance centers or on servers close to rugged environments such as oil platforms. These solutions operate alongside existing systems such as OSIsoft PI, extending their value and in-place investment.

Joe Perino, Senior Vice President & Oil & Gas Sector Leader at Logica, said, “This is a clear demonstration of how Logica creates ecosystems that drive business value for clients. By combining Logica’s knowledge of both StreamInsight™ technology and data-driven industries such as Oil & Gas, Utilities and Sustainability, we can offer a solution that accelerates decision-making and helps clients gain competitive advantage.”

David Graff, Managing Director, U.S. Manufacturing & Resources, Microsoft, said, “With the ever-increasing amount of data generated around the world every day, real-time predictive analysis has become a critical business requirement in data-driven enterprises of all sizes. We look forward to working with Logica to offer these solutions to our customers, helping them gain insight from their data.”
