WALTHAM, Mass., July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- InnoCentive, Inc., the pioneer in open innovation, crowdsourcing, and prize competitions, today announced that it will host a webinar on July 25 about prize-based innovation featuring the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL).
During the one-hour webinar, participants will learn how the Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) IDEA Lab partners with the AFRL, a $4 billion technology powerhouse, to energize world-class R&D collaborations and technology innovation using prize-based competitions. The featured speaker, Bob Lee, Open Innovation Award Challenge Manager for Air Force Research Labs, will share his experience and insights on the benefits and effectiveness of this approach by highlighting the AFRL's recent, successful FAST Rope Challenge. The Challenge sought and found an innovative new solution for helping military personnel quickly and safely descend from a helicopter in hostile situations.
Participants will gain an understanding of why prize-based competitions deliver innovative solutions faster and more cost effectively, and learn best practices for adopting a successful Challenge Driven Innovation strategy at their own organization.
