Visitors to the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas can expect to see several tricked-out versions of Jeep's vehicles, but the SUV maker has released details about two special "Moparized" concept models that will debut at the event. Taking place Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 this year, SEMA showcases specialty aftermarket automotive parts, including the Mopar products that will adorn the Jeep Grand Cherokee Half & Half and Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper.

Demonstrating how Mopar parts can transform a vehicle, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Half & Half features a zipper graphic that divides the driver and passenger sides, and there is even a giant Mopar zipper pull tab hanging from the bumper. The passenger side simply reveals a stock 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in Deep Cherry Pearl, but then things get interesting on the driver side. Standard 17-inch wheels have been replaced with 20-inch chrome wheels, which are matched by the chrome on the mesh-grille insert, mirror caps, tube steps, fog lamp bezels and hood air deflector. Meanwhile, a trailer hitch with a wiring harness, a roof rack and front tow hooks demonstrate the practical side of Mopar products.

"It's really cool to see how far you can go when customizing your Jeep with Mopar parts, and the Grand Cherokee Half & Half is a great before and after example," said Eric Ao, general manager of Quirk Chrysler Jeep, a Greater Boston Jeep dealer. "Jeep drivers each have their own unique style, and they can choose from literally thousands of Mopar parts and accessories to personalize their vehicles and make a strong statement."

Inside, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Half & Half remains divided, with the "Moparized" side receiving upgrades that are both luxurious and practical. Premium Katzkin Tuscany leather and a stainless-steel bright pedal kit heighten the sense of style and sophistication, while accessories like all-weather floor mats, a cargo net and cargo tray add more functionality to the already versatile SUV.

Unlike the Grand Cherokee Half & Half, the Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper gets the full Mopar treatment throughout the vehicle, showcasing the brand's new high-end performance parts. Matte-black accents on the grille, off-road bumpers, fuel door and tail-lamp guards complement the exterior's Dune-in-Matte tan paintjob, and that color scheme is mirrored by the black Katzkin leather seats with tan stitching inside. Meanwhile, 42-inch Super Swamper Bogger tires and a hood vent give the Sand Trooper an aggressive look that will help it stand out from the hundreds of other custom vehicles at SEMA.

Under the hood, the Wrangler Sand Trooper maintains its bold demeanor, with a new conversion kit for its 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that pumps out 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Off-roading prowess is amplified as well, with front and rear portal axles generating five additional inches of ground clearance and a full-length underbody skid plate prototype protecting the undercarriage. The Sand Trooper's impressive capability receives an additional boost from other Mopar parts, including rock rails, a Warn winch and a trailer-tow hitch receiver.

"The Wrangler Sand Trooper is really the ultimate crawler, thanks to all the Mopar performance parts and accessories," added Ao. "While the vehicle is only a concept for the SEMA Show right now, Mopar parts are available to Jeep owners everywhere, so fans can create something very similar to the Sand Trooper on their own."
