On October 25, Family Life Credit Services handed out coats, socks and other winter clothing for free to families in need in Fargo-Moorhead and the surrounding communities.

Winter is just around the corner, and the coat drive helped needy families prepare for harsh North Dakota and Minnesota winters. Socks, caps, hats, mittens and coats were given to children and adults at the downtown YMCA location.

Family Life Credit Services and Family Life Thrift Store have been collecting winter jackets and accessories for the last 2 months and were able to hand out over 820 coats and 1,200 pairs of socks at the “A Coat Before the Storm” event. Joe Larson, Program Director at Family Life Credit Services said, “It’s been great to see all the families and children blessed by such a simple act of giving a coat. We live in such a giving community!”

Interested in donating a coat, winter hat or other winter items? Donations are still being collected and can be dropped off at Family Life Thrift Store located at 1000 45th Street SW, Fargo, ND.
