PR Log - Mar 21, 2013 - GPAX, Inc. custom designs and manufactures carrier and cover tape to protect fragile, specially coated and precious finishes/metals for both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole (THT) Odd-Form Components. The GPAX product line includes pocketed tape to protect SMT components as well as flat tape (in EIA standard “EIA IS/704”) which fit leaded THT components.
GPAX tape and flexible feeders are used in presentation solutions for both robotic cells and pick & place equipment. Whether designing the installation of a new line, or looking to retrofit current equipment, GPAX may have your flexible feeding solution.

Factory floor tested since 1988, GPAX tape and reel technology will enhance the productivity by eliminating downtime during supply change restocks due to the on-feeder splicing capability of the GPAX tapes.
The mechanically interlocking cover tape offers reliability during loading, shipping, and stocking of components, regardless of the environment in which they are stored. It is a robust packaging system eliminating peel force testing, variability in tape adhesion force, and tearing or stretching of cover tapes. In addition, because carrier and cover tapes are spliced, there is virtually no scrap.
