Additionally, Robertson will be playing a concert at Thalian Hall to benefit The Davis Community, an assisted living community in Wilmington NC, to help create and support a therapeutic harp program for the residents at Davis.

PR Log - Apr 17, 2013 - Renowned Wisconsin-born Celtic and American Folk Harpist Kim Robertson will be in Wrightsville Beach April 25-29 conducting a private harp retreat for students gathering from across the country. On Sunday, April 28 at 3 p.m., Ms. Robertson will conclude her visit to Wilmington with a solo concert at Thalian Hall where her students will join her for the finale. Proceeds from the concert are being directed to The Davis Community, an assisted living community in Wilmington NC, home to Champions Assisted Living, Davis Health Care Center and the Rehabilitation and Wellness Pavilion, in support of live music programs and the formation of a therapeutic harp program for Davis Community residents.  Please visit http://www.therapeuticmusician.com/  for information on therapeutic music in a healthcare setting.

Kim Robertson’s style and approach to the instrument are uniquely personal and original. Classically trained on both piano and orchestral harp, she brings to her original compositions and arrangements a contemporary touch to this centuries-old instrument. Ms. Robertson has traveled with her harp from a wide range of locations such as concert halls to grass-roots folk clubs, from luxury liners to remote mountaintops; at each stop she has increased her loyal following. She has created an extensive selection of CDs as well as a dozen volumes of harp arrangements and instructional videos.

Following the performance, children and adults will be welcomed to view and touch these instruments, in hopes of awakening a harp movement in the Wilmington area.

"One of the best players recording today...her original works have that traditional ring of truth and authenticity to them..." - Compact Discussions
