Merck Opens $120 Million Packaging Plant in Hangzhou

Merck, known as MSD outside the US and Canada, officially opened its new $120 million drug packaging facility in Hangzhou. The plant will supply Merck products to China and other Asia Pacific countries. The China facility was built even though Merck is closing down plants in other parts of the world. Following its merger with Schering-Plough in 2009, Merck owned 93 facilities around the globe. It has shrunk that number to 72. More details....
