The new truck shreds an impressive 7,000 pounds of paper per hour, a job that eats up nearly three months when performed manually. Like every truck in the fleet, the high-security shredding equipment easily devours paper clips, staples, binders, disks, x-rays and even hard drives. Every truck is equipped with cameras attached to the shredder and the collection compartment, which sends a live feed to a closed circuit monitor so that customers can confirm their documents are securely destroyed.

A pioneer in providing environmentally responsible shredding services, the entire SoCal Shred fleet conforms to the 2007 Heavy Duty Highway Rule and produces 90 percent fewer emissions than average diesel trucks. The new truck also measures up to the new regulations outlined under the California Clean Air Act and California Clean Fuels Program, both of which aim to reduce emissions and increase engine durability. Additionally, SoCal Shred recycles 100 percent of the documents and materials that the trucks securely process so that they can be used in creating new paper products.
