Americana under the Stars, Continues Each Week with Live Music, Bud and Alley’s Hosts Annual Hurricane Party and Seaside Plays Outdoor Movies.
PRLog - Sep 03, 2013 - DESTIN, Fla. -- Topsail Hill Preserve State Park hosts a variety of nature and wildlife programs throughout the year. On Friday, September 6th at 9:30am, adventurers can take part in a Campbell Lake canoe trip with a park ranger guiding a tour around the lake. On September. 13th at 2:00pm, a slideshow presentation will be given on the history of Florida’s alligators. On September 20th at 1:00pm, the Animal Tracks program is for all ages to go on a short hike and learn about the art of tracking. The State Park will also continue weekly music events with Americana Under the Stars. Every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, there will be live performances including the Gail Carson Trio and Lucky Mud. Guests can bring chairs and snacks to enjoy the entertainment and beautiful scenery of the park. This is an all ages event with pets welcome too.
Each Friday evening in historic Seaside, classic movies will be enjoyed at the Seaside lawn. Guests can bring chairs or blankets to view family favorite films such as Jurassic Park, Beetle juice and Annie. Movies begin each week at 7:30pm. On September 27th, Bud and Alley’s restaurant will host the 9th Annual Hurricane Party. All proceeds benefit the Children’s Volunteer Health Network. Last year, the event raised over $34,000. The doors will open at 7pm with great good and drinks and live entertainment by Destin’s DJ Joey. Accommodations by GRS Beach Rentals can be made to stay overnight at nearby vacation rentals in the Seaside area.
Gulf Place on Highway 30-A hosts a popular Wine Walkabout on the third Thursday each month from 5-7pm. Visitors will stroll through fifteen stops in Gulf Place enjoying wine, appetizers and live music. In Destin, Chan's Wine World will host a Beer Festival on September 28th. From 2-5pm, craft and microbrews will be available for an afternoon of beer sampling, great food and live entertainment.
