U.S. solar installations up 20% on-year

Solar-panel installations in the U.S. have grown about 20% this year, and a trade group expects growth around 30% next year. Solar stocks have had quite a spell of losses in previous years but have paid back handsomely this year — although not on Wednesday, when they and most energy stocks were in the red.
