New Delhi – December 18, 2013, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) associated with IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. and MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd. holds a press conference for LED Expo Thailand 2014, Thailand International Exhibition on LED Lighting Products & Technology. The event is honor to have Dr. Kurujit Nakornthap, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy, and the representative from Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and Thai Hotel Association as a guest speaker for a seminar on LED: Green Energy Solution on 16th December 2013 at the Headquarter of EGAT.
Dr. Kurujit Nakornthap, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy said that “In the present day, the usages of energy have continuously increased 4.4 percent per year along with the expanding of the economy by 4.5 percent per year, especially the energy usages from the manufacturing industries and business building. Therefore to solve the country’s power crisis, the Ministry of Energy has set up a 20 years plan to conserve energy (2011 – 2030) by decreasing the energy intensity, the energy that is used in the domestic manufacturing industrial or the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and supporting the innovation of power saving products by 25 percent by the year 2030 comparing to 2010. Thailand can defiantly decrease the power usages by 20 percent by 2014 if they are determent in saving energy along with the innovation technology such as LED light, which is considering as one of the major breakthrough for the power saving in the future”.
Mr. Soonchai Kumnoonsate, EGAT Governor, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand said that “In 2013-2014, EGAT has been focusing more on conserving energy, by realizing that the LED product is consider as the new electric innovation that will be very useful in saving energy for the world in the near future. Therefore many campaigns were launch to encouraging the use of LED light by adding number 5 label on to all LED light bulb, including the changing of street light and lamp that is under the administrative district of the EGAT and to encourage the usage of LED light instate of the flourescent lamp in the building of the government sectors.”
“To stimulate a long lasting market for the LED product, EGAT has joined with IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. and MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd. from India to host LED Expo Thailand 2014 for the second year. The event will be held from May22 – 24, at Hall 7–8, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand. In 2014, we dedicated the first 2 days to be Trade Fair and another 1 day to the public to be able to participate and buy LED product in a special price” added Mr. Soonchai.
