True Restaurant Brings Baltimore-Inspired Fare to Downtown Boca Raton

By: PRLog
PRLog - Dec. 26, 2013 - BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Baltimore native Frank Hawkins, a resident of South Florida for more than 20 years, has opened the casual-dining restaurant True in the Plaza Real Quarter of Downtown Boca. No stranger to the hospitality industry, Frank previously operated The Butcher’s Daughter, a sandwich shop in Boynton Beach, and The Twisted Noodle, a pasta restaurant in Key West.

The menu at True focuses on authentic, unpretentious food inspired by Frank’s Charm City childhood. In addition to daily specials and homemade desserts, signature entrees include Maryland-style lump crab cakes, slow-roasted beef brisket, and farmhouse chicken.

A former wine purchaser, Frank has ensured that True’s bottle and by-the-glass lists showcase a number of undiscovered, not to mention reasonably priced, gems. And at True, craft beer is king! Featured brews include three Florida beers on tap — Funky Buddha Floridian, Due South Cream Caramel, and Cigar City Jai Alai — and several bottled beers from Maryland.

Cozy and eclectic, the interior at True offers a wine bar and seating for 35. Diners may also choose to sit at one of the restaurant’s umbrella-covered tables on the spacious patio out front.

TRUE: Good, honest food ... and the best crab cakes south of Baltimore.
