PRLog - Jan. 10, 2014 - CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- With the growing controversy over Obama’s Affordable Care Act and concerns about skyrocketing health care costs, Cross Roads Pregnancy Care Center offers consumers an alternative. This new clinic and counseling center on the East End of Charleston provides free ultrasounds, pregnancy tests, and other services to women facing unplanned pregnancies. “Our goal is to empower women in difficult circumstances to make positive choices,” says Jenny Entsminger, Cross Roads’ Executive Director.

“According to one national study, 9 out of 10 women who have had past abortions would have made a different choice had they truly believed another choice was available to them,” says Entsminger. By offering free ultrasounds, peer counseling, parenting education programs, baby supplies, maternity clothes, and agency referrals, this non-profit outreach hopes to make an important difference in the lives of women in the Charleston area who are most abortion vulnerable.

The clients of Cross Roads are served by a medical and counseling staff with over 60 years of collective pregnancy care experience. These programs are clearly helping according to those who have used the services. “Because of the caring people at Cross Roads, I found the practical support and inner strength I needed to have my baby.  They gave me hope and all of the care and support I needed to get through a rough time.” says one recent client and new mother.

The center also provides women who have undergone past abortions with a post-abortion support group.  With a stated mission to help all women in the Charleston area cope with what may prove the most difficult and frightening time of their lives, Cross Roads reports it has structured its services to serve those in need as comprehensively as possible.
