UPDATE 1-Brazil's GPA beats profit forecasts on cost cuts, tax bill

SAO PAULO, Feb 13 (Reuters) - GPA , Brazil's biggest retailer, beat analyst forecasts with a 28 percent jump in quarterly profit on Thursday, as leaner administration allowed it to bring down prices and accelerate sales growth despite a fragile economy.
