Mayor Bill Finch calls Urgent Care Center a welcome addition that will fill a gap in Bridgeport Healthcare
PRLog - Mar. 20, 2014 - BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Mayor Bill Finch, other Bridgeport dignitaries, local celebrities, and businessmen and women gathered to celebrate and support the opening of Doctors Express Bridgeport, the new state-of-the-art urgent care that recently opened in the Bayview Plaza in Bridgeport.
“Our city has some of the finest healthcare facilities in the region. The opening of Doctors Express will help lessen the burden on Bridgeport Hospital and St.Vincent’s Medical Center’s emergency rooms. Thank you to Dr. Heffer and his team for opening their doors in Bridgeport, bringing jobs and convenient, affordable healthcare options to our City,” Mayor Finch said.
The new Doctors Express Urgent Care, located at 161 Boston Ave. is one of the nation's top urgent care centers. As part of the Grand Opening celebration, attendees had an opportunity to tour the facility and see all of the features that Doctors Express offers. The new office has seven different exam rooms, a procedure center, and operates its own on-site laboratory, pharmacy and x-ray equipment. This enables doctors to diagnose and treat illnesses, dispense medication, set broken bones, and tend to thousands of other patient care needs, all under one roof. In addition to urgent care, Doctors Express Bridgeport's additional services include pre-employment exams, drug screening, pre-surgical, sports and school physicals.

“Doctors Express can greatly decrease the wait time for patients and meet their most immediate medical needs,” said Heffer. “No appointments are necessary and we have greatly expanded hours to accommodate almost anyone's schedule. We strive to make sure that our patients are evaluated and treated quickly and effectively. The Doctors Express goal is to have all patients treated in 30 – 60 minutes.”
The new Bridgeport office in the Bayview Plaza (landmarked as part of the Bridgeport Post Office plaza, and behind Burger King on Boston Ave.) is conveniently located to CT Routes 8 and 25, and a few minutes from I-95.
The facility is the first Doctors Express Urgent Care Center in Bridgeport and joins a group of more than 140 locations in 26 states across the country that treats more than 1 million patients annually.
