Google's April fool's AdBirds prank promotes new bird advertising documentary

PRLog - Apr. 2, 2014 - VANCOUVER, Canada -- Animal advertising is no joke with the documentary BIRD CO MEDIA coming to screens this spring. On the tail end of Google’s AdBirds April Fool’s campaign, BIRD CO MEDIA will be released this spring nationwide in cities across Canada.

Google's prank consisted of Google AdWords offering ad placement on actual birds when a user signed into their dashboard.  ”AdBirds” gives you the option to place your business’s messaging on the beak, head, wings, and even the tail feathers.  You have six different birds to choose from, ranging from the quick and nimble sparrow to the nocturnal owl.

"We would like thank our partner Google for its lending a hand and support in promoting awareness, not only for our documentary, but also for the larger issues surrounding animals and commerce" - Ben C. Silverman, Producer.

Bird Co. Media is being touted as “the rise and fall of the world’s most notorious advertising agency” as the company the film is based on saw significant success with animal advertising practices, namely birds, based out of India.

Though it’s true the film is highly controversial, it gives a real look at the pros and cons of how humans and animals may work together commercially and the producers expect it to hit a real chord with audiences.

“We appreciate Google’s support in helping ruffle feathers for the cause of animal advertising and expect it to translate well into revenue for the film.” - Jonathan Hlibka, Hlibka Entertainment Inc, CEO.

Bird Co. Media premiered with sold out screening at the prestigious Whistler International Film Festival, and enjoyed excellent audience response and positive press reviews. USA distribution is still amidst the suitor process as well as international rights. The films release is being supported by Telefilm Canada’s Feature Film Fund, Marketing Program.
