Spring is often cited as the harbinger of new life and new beginnings. Therefore it is apropos that a new Childrens Clothing line is coming to life with a Spring Collection. ‘The Dragon and The Rabbit’ is a line of versatile and chic children’s clothing with a perfect blend of classic and modern styling. Designed in New York by apparel industry veteran Anjana Eapen-Sathaye, the brand is ready for its launch on April 26th.
After working in the New York women’s fashion industry for 17 years at brands such as Calvin Klein, Emmanuel Ungaro, Polo Ralph Lauren and Tracy Reese, Anjana was inspired by her newborn daughter (who was born in the year of The Dragon) and her toddler son (who was born in the year of The Rabbit) and she soon ventured into the world of children’s wear.
Being the mother of two toddlers, Anjana designs practical, easy-to-care clothes made from natural cotton fibers that are comfortable against their delicate skins. In today’s children’s wear world that is overpowered by uber casual sweatpants and graphic tees, The Dragon and The Rabbit aims to bring back some propriety with the philosophy that all kids (as well as grown-ups) behave as they are dressed. However, the designs are deliberately comfortable and durable so that kids can still remain kids.
At the Dragon and the Rabbit, not only are the founders excited about the creation of fun clothes for little souls, but they are also driven by their deep desire to give back to the community in whichever way possible. The brand has teamed up with the International Children’s Heart Foundation (www.babyheart.org) and will be sharing a portion of ongoing earnings with this great organization. “The Dragon and The Rabbit” is also proud to be donor sponsors of the New York Philharmonic for Kids (www.nyphil.org).
