Forest Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: FRX) will pay approximately $1.46 billion in cash and stock to purchase Furiex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: FURX). Shares of Forest Labs slipped 34 cents to close at $89.50 while Furiex stock leaped $22.90 to close at $103.05.
