FCC votes to advance proposal on so-called net neutrality rules

About 100 tech companies recently wrote to FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler voicing their opposition to a broadband "fast lane" for big spenders. Facebook, Google and Amazon were among the undersigned and are all staunchly in favor of "open internet" policies. Republicans both in the FCC and in Congress also oppose tighter restrictions.
