Freetech's First Successful Application of "Hot-in-Place" Technology on Airport Runway Project Expands Scope of Business

Hong Kong, June 9, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Freetech Road Recycling Technology (Holdings) Limited ("Freetech", or the "Group;" stock code: 6888), a leading and fast-growing service provider in the asphalt pavement maintenance ("APM") industry using "Hot-in-Place" recycling technology, today announced the successful completion of its maiden trial asphalt pavement maintenance service by using "Hot-in-Place" technology at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport runway ("Trial Project") in Hunan Province, the People's Republic of China.

This very first airport project represents a significant breakthrough of the Group in the successful application of the "Hot-in-Place" technology into this new market segment on top of road and highway maintenance. This advance will enhance the Group's market share, competitiveness and reputation in asphalt pavement maintenance services industry, which could lead to more business opportunities for the Group.

The project demonstrates the efficiency and quality of the Group's technology. According to the regulatory requirement of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the maintenance work on the airport runway is to be conducted during the hours without flight take-off and landing. The short maintenance time has amply demonstrated the Group's advanced technology with high flexibility and efficiency on maintenance equipment. A qualified independent third party testing institution has also issued a report proving that the maintenance services of the Trial Project have met the "Specifications For Asphalt Concrete Pavement Construction Of Civil Airports". This is a testimony to the quality of the Group's "Hot-in-Place" technology and its successful expansion to a new business area.

Mr Sze Wai Pan, Chairman of Freetech said, "We are thrilled about this latest breakthrough because we have not only been able to extend the application of our 'Hot-in-Place' technology to airport runways, but because we have also been able to demonstrate that our technology can meet the stringent requirement set out by the aviation industry. R&D will continue to be our core value and we will continue to develop innovative technologies to ensure that we achieve favourable margins and generate sustainable returns for our shareholders over the long term."

About Hot-in-Place Technology

Hot-in-Place Technology is used in asphalt pavement maintenance, an on-site, in-place technology that rehabilitates deteriorated asphalt pavements through heating, scarifying and mixing the damaged asphalt materials with new materials and thereby minimises the use of new materials. The primary purpose of this process is to repair pavement damages such as cracks, ruts and holes, and bumps.
