PRLog - Jun. 25, 2014 - CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- After battling tirelessly without losing hope, a Chilean immigrant reclaims his right to legally reside in the U.S. with his family.

According to statements by Cuban-American immigration lawyer Eduardo Soto, his client was associated with individuals who were convicted of criminal activities, but he was only performing his accounting duties. But because of some legal technicalities he was put in deportation proceedings and removed from the country even though he qualified for a waiver.

"Laws change and have many details, but family should be holy before the law and this is a precept judges should have before them when it comes to separating families. It was not a few hours or weeks, it was  twenty years of separation for this family: many important moments that will not be repeated; now they will be together and I congratulate the Immigration judge for his courage to do the right thing”, stated Eduardo Soto.

At this time, the family members of the deported immigrant are not thinking about the past, they are making many plans, among which is to present their case so other persons do not surrender due to an adverse decision, because as attorney Soto says, "Immigration does not always have the last word and if you believe you have been treated unfairly or capriciously, there are resources that should be used.”
