“Dog of God: The Novel”, will be Unveiled This Weekend in Los Angeles
PRLog - Jun. 25, 2014 - LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Author Cher Slater-Barlevi, M.A., a recent graduate of the Master's program in Spiritual Pyschology form the University of Santa Monica, is scheduled to release her new book “Dog Of God: The Novel, a wild romp through magical worlds” to L.A. audiences next week. Based on a true story, the novel is a magical journey of physical and spiritual healing which has been drawn from her experiences in Brazil working with the world renowned healer ”John of God”. After a debilitating car accident, she was left with chronic pain and limited mobility; dependent on 2 canes, she made her way to the healing center of “John of God” in the remote town of Abadiania, Brazil. Her visit was not only physically successful, in that she was able to walk onto the plane home; but she was also transformed spiritually by her experience with the healer and the small dog ( Xico) who resided at the center to assist visitors with their healing. Though a work of fiction; the novel is based on actual events.
“John of God”, considered to be one of the most powerful healers alive today can be found weekly, attending to people at his healing center in Brazil. Visitors come from over the world for the healing of physical, mental, and spiritual ailments such as cancer, AIDS, autism, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia anxiety, depression, additions and many other afflictions. The miraculous healings of this man, and the 32 spiritual beings who perform the healings through him, has been praised by leaders including Oprah Winfrey, Dr.Wayne Dyer, Ram Das, and Shirley McLane. The US. launch tour will kick off Sunday June 29th at the famed Mystic Journey Bookstore at 1624 Abbot Kinney, Venice Ca. 90291, in the private outdoor meditation lounge from 1-3pm. The event will include Ms. Slater-Barlevi’s reading of excerpts from the novel and sharing her personal healing experiences with "John of God".
