Weathermatic Adds Key Personnel to Address Growing Smart Irrigation Control Market

Merritt, McCafferty, Emadiazar and Roberts add key skills to experienced team to address technology and sales needs
PRLog - Jul. 14, 2014 - DALLAS -- Weathermatic is announcing the hiring of several key new team members to address the growing demand for its Smart irrigation control technology and services from landscape maintenance contractor and public agency customers.  The company has experienced strong growth in the SmartLink web-based control business in the last year.  Revenue from the segment grew more than 80% year-over-year and software alone now represents 7% of global company sales.

Tyler Merritt has been named Director of Software Engineering.  Tyler has spent eight years in the technology space holding various technical and business development roles with Fonality and Cardinal Broadband.  Tyler’s experience in helping develop fast growing technology firms makes him a perfect fit for Weathermatic at this stage of growth.  Tyler is also founder and lead developer of Field Harmony, a cloud-based field services application.

Mike McCafferty, P.E. has joined the engineering team, managing hardware and firmware design and development. Mike has over eighteen years of experience in electronics design and engineering, serving most recently as Senior Electronics Design Engineer at Flextronics Corporation, developing medical products and equipment. Mike holds has a BSEE degree from Texas Tech University and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas.

Melody Emadiazar joins Weathermatic after fourteen years experience in recycling and water resource management with the Cities of Denton and Frisco, Texas.  Melody is leading the software renewals activity. Melody is also tasked with the public agency strategy and execution.  Melody’s expertise in managing water conservation strategies for the fastest growing and most progressive cities in America makes her perfect for the role.

Michael Roberts is joining Weathermatic as Director of Inside Sales. Michael spent twenty-three years with The Coca-Cola Company leading Area Sales and International Key Account customer relationships throughout the Central US and Persian Gulf. Michael’s impressive career leading global sales teams gives him a perspective on market strategy and implementation that will be a key advantage for the company going forward.

The combined experience of this team and key contributions from new participants are helping the company meet the growing demand for its products and services.
