Talend Recognized as a Visionary in 2014 Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools

Talend, the global big data integration software leader, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools”1 report. The annual report assesses providers of data integration tools.

According to the report, “Data integration is central to enterprises' information infrastructure. Enterprises pursuing the frictionless sharing of data are increasingly favoring technology tools that are flexible in regard to time-to-value demands, integration patterns, optimization for cost and delivery models, and synergies with information and application infrastructures.”

"We are honored to participate in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools and pleased to be positioned as a visionary,” said Fabrice Bonan, chief product officer and co-founder of Talend. “Talend’s native support for Hadoop and other modern big data platforms takes the complexity out of integration and enables IT to be more responsive to the demands of today’s data-driven businesses.”

Talend products evaluated in the Magic Quadrant include Talend Enterprise Data Integration and Talend Enterprise Big Data.

  • Talend Enterprise Data Integration provides an extensible, highly-performing set of tools to access, transform and integrate data from any business system in real-time or batch to meet both operational and analytical data integration needs.
  • Talend Enterprise Big Data is a powerful and versatile solution for big data integration that natively supports Apache Hadoop, including connectors for Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), HBase, HCatalog, Hive, Oozie, Pig and Sqoop.

According to Gartner, “Visionaries have a solid understanding of emerging technology and business trends, or a position that is well aligned with current demand, but they lack market awareness or credibility beyond their customer base or a single application domain. Visionaries may also fail to provide a comprehensive set of product capabilities. They may be new entrants lacking the installed base and global presence of larger vendors, although they could also be large, established players in related markets that have only recently placed an emphasis on data integration tools. The growing emphasis on aligning data integration tools with the market's demand for interoperability of delivery styles, integrated deployment of related offerings (such as data integration and data quality tools), metadata modeling, support for emerging analytics environments, and deployment models (among other things), is creating ongoing challenges for which vendors must demonstrate vision.”
