Fairfax County EDA works with 16 businesses adding almost 500 jobs to the local economy

During the second quarter of 2014, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) provided services and resources to 16 businesses that are adding more than 400 jobs in Fairfax County. Most of these businesses are in the information technology and professional services sectors, and four are foreign-based firms using a Fairfax County location to expand in North America.

“The companies that we worked with in the second quarter reflect the diverse business base that we are striving to build and strengthen in the county,” said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the FCEDA. “Their presence and growth here is a testament to their faith in a Fairfax County location as critical to their success.”

One of the most prominent announcements came from Helix Electric, Inc., a design firm that specializes in engineering and construction services, and is adding 126 jobs to the county economy. Other businesses that are creating jobs in Fairfax County:

  • Volkswagen of America, Inc., adding 76 jobs;
  • WashingtonFirst Bank, adding 65 jobs;
  • Sevatec, Inc., which provides technology and security services, adding 39 jobs; and,
  • Adaequare, a software firm based in India, adding 15 jobs.
