Red Bull Global Rallycross Roars into Port of Los Angeles, Tickets Now on Sale

Red Bull Global Rallycross announced today that tickets are now on sale for the doubleheader race in Los Angeles, scheduled for September 19-21 at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, CA. Supercars equipped with 600 horsepower engines will compete for two separate race victories in the series’ only doubleheader event of the season. The event will mark the first hometown race for Red Bull GRC, which is headquartered in the LA basin.

“In the midst of our most successful year yet, we have been looking forward to our Los Angeles event all season. With so many of our drivers and teams based in the area, as well as the series itself, we expect this race to be the marquee event of our 2014 schedule,” said Red Bull GRC CEO Colin Dyne. “We are excited to finally race at the Port of Los Angeles after our successful season kickoff event this April.”

The three-day event will include two full points-paying rounds for the series championship, with drivers competing in separate finals on both Saturday and Sunday. Featuring racing in both the series’ Supercars and Lites classes, the entry list includes two-time series champion Tanner Foust, two-time Red Bull GRC event winner Ken Block, Formula 1 veterans Nelson Piquet Jr. and Scott Speed, and 20-time X Games medalist Bucky Lasek.

Red Bull Global Rallycross Los Angeles will take place only 20 minutes outside of the city of Los Angeles, the only destination the series has visited during all four seasons. Past winners of Red Bull GRC events in this region include nine-time World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb, two-time World Rally champion Marcus Gronholm, and 16-time X Games medalist Brian Deegan.
