Flyover of the scenic Brainerd Lakes Area by three local tourism organizations
PRLog - Sep. 12, 2014 - BRAINERD, Minn. -- The Brainerd Lakes Area is truly Minnesota’s premier family vacation destination and there are many organizations working behind the scenes to strengthen and promote the area. On Saturday, September 6th, three of these organizations gathered at the Brainerd Regional Airport to do a flyover of the area. This was a unique opportunity to gather aerial photos, video, and to take a moment away from the busy weekday schedules to discuss ways to better promote the area to potential visitors.

Hosted by Visit Brainerd, the Brainerd & Baxter Tourism Bureau, the flyover included Visit Brainerd Executive Director Richard Polipnick, Brainerd Lakes Chamber CEO Matt Killian, and Nisswa Chamber of Commerce CEO Shawn Hansen. This flyover is part of continued efforts by the three organizations to find ways to partner together to enhance and promote the Brainerd Lakes Area.

After the flyover Shawn Hansen, CEO, Nisswa Chamber, commented, “We understand and appreciate the economics of the tourism industry in Minnesota, and recognize the major significance that it plays in the Nisswa area.  It’s easy to take it for granted.  It’s easy to just know it’s here.  But… experiencing it from the air, really engrains it to your brain of why we live here, why we want people to vacation and experience our communities, and why the Brainerd lakes area is so amazingly beautiful.”

“From one vantage point, we could clearly see eight communities at the same time,” said Matt Kilian, CEO of the Brainerd Lakes Chamber.  “As you rise just a few thousand feet in the air, our borders quickly fade into one spectacular lakes region.”

"This was a great opportunity to see our area from the air and to strengthen the relationship between our three organizations. Each organization has and will continue to have its own goals and messaging, however we continue to seek out opportunities to partner in order to develop and promote our area as Minnesota’s premier family vacation destination," said Richard Polipnick, Executive Director, Visit Brainerd.

Although the area and attractions marketed vary for each organization, there are many that are shared. The belief that our area is and will continue to be a premier destination for travelers from around the world is held by all three organizational leaders and each is committed to developing and promoting that message. Partnering utilizes the strengths and resourses of each organization to better deliver that message to a wider audiance.
