Disabled Actor in Wheelchair does Not Let Disability Stop Him as an Entertainer

Actor Josh TwelvesThis disabled actor may be in a wheelchair, but he does not let his disabilities stop him from pursuing his dreams as an actor and entertainer.

Salt Lake City, Utah (September 16, 2014) — Disabled actor and entertainer, Josh Twelves has had roles in feature films and even had a gig in a comedy club, in spite of his disabilities and wheelchair.

Twelves does not complain, and certainly never cries out “poor pity me.” Instead, he pursues his goals as an actor and entertainer with enthusiasm and a smile that never ends, according to his talent manager Shielia Erickson.

“Josh is a wonderful actor who embraces who he is, and is a very talented performer. He not only portrays disabled people in films, he does a comedy routine that helps people laugh, because they see a man who can laugh at life in spite of life’s difficulties,” said Erickson, owner of Broadway Talent Management.

Twelves was a hit at the recent Salt Lake Comic Con when he and Carly Elwes re-enacted a “battle of wits” from Princes Bride, which is on his YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/JoshTwelves

Twelves has had roles in films such as Ephraim’s Rescue, Halloweentown High, and Unaccompanied Minors, as well as television shows such as Everwood and Promised Land. His complete filmography can be found at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1964932

“No one does a better job of laughing at himself than Josh Twelves, and at the same time he helps us with our need to learn to feel comfortable around people with disabilities. He teaches us that we can laugh at life, and that we can overcome any problem,” said Erickson.

His comedy routine at Wise Guys can be seen on YouTube and on his Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JoshTwelvesActorModel

“I had a goal to be an actor, and I wasn’t going to be discouraged. After I was in my first show I just decided to keep going. I love acting, and I love helping people discover that they can accomplish more than they think if they will just not give up,” explained Twelves.
