New Retro Systems Creighton Maxwell Promoted, Offering First Course

Creighton Promoted Trainer/Senior Service Technician, Courses Beginning in Valley Center This Week

Retro Systems is proud to announce the recent promotion of Creighton Maxwell to the position Trainer/Senior Service Technician and. Creighton’s first training course in this capacity is being held this week at the Retro Systems training facility in Valley Center, Kansas.

Creighton will be teaching technicians about the installation and servicing of the small- to mid-sized cutting machines from Retro Systems, as well as how to perform basic troubleshooting on CNC profile cutting systems. The course, entitled “Basic Machine Installation / Basic Machine Troubleshooting, Repair & Maintenance” will be held from September 15th-19th at the Valley Center facility.

Creighton, a former U.S. Marine, has been with the company for four years as a service technician. He was promoted on September 1st, and takes over Training for John Noll, who retired in June. In addition to serving as an instructor, he will continue to act as a senior service technician, while being responsible for preparing cut parts and setting up customer visits to the Retro Systems facility.

This week’s Basic Machine Installation course includes enrollees from Missouri and Pennsylvania. The course is designed to enable students to learn how to install and operate the Hornet SS, Hornet HS and Hornet HD cutting machines.

Students will learn how to troubleshot and repair problems, distinguish between symptoms and faults, make use of on-board diagnostic capabilities, understand the interrelationship of the different components of a CNC profile cutting system, and service and repair the line of products from Retro Systems.

Before taking the course, prospective students must successfully complete a Retro Systems knowledge test. Additionally, working knowledge of Hypertherm CNC’s and the Phoenix operating system, along with previous mechanical and/or electrical experience, will be helpful.

The Retro Systems training center is a high-tech, 7,000 sq. ft. facility, including a classroom and a 4,500 sq. ft. lab equipped with multiple CNC cutting machines and configurations for demonstrations. Weeklong training courses are generally held once per month in Valley Center, covering a range of topics. Certain training courses may also be scheduled by appointment for individual clients.
