Smithers Rapra’s Pigment and Color Science Forum 2014 to Bring Together Color and Coating Experts Next Week

More than 250 pigment supply chain leaders will come together next week at the Le Westin Montréal in Montréal, Canada for Smithers Rapra’s Pigment and Color Science Forum 2014. BASF, Ford, Schlenk, X-Rite Pantone, General Motors, Boeing, Lubrizol Performance Coatings, Canadian Paint and Coatings Association, The Shepherd Color Co., PPG, and Wells Fargo Securities are just a few of the international leaders who will be providing attendees with a deeper understanding of the issues and challenges currently facing the industry, including color science and how design perspectives and tastes impact the supply chain; how to forge deeper connections between academic study, R&D, performance engineering and industry and emerging pigment opportunities; and the tools & systems that can help quantify data more efficiently.

Earlier this year, Smithers Rapra and BASF launched ‘The BASF Emerging Professional Scholarship.’ This new initiative offers an additional complimentary registration to any delegate so that they may bring an emerging professional colleague to the Pigment and Color Science Forum. A growing number of emerging professionals will be in attendance at the 2014 conference to share their perspectives and to take advantage of this educational opportunity. Over the course of the next year, BASF and Smithers Rapra will be launching further initiatives devoted to the health and growth of the pigments industry.

The Pigment and Color Science Forum is co-located with Smithers Rapra’s TiO2 World Summit. TiO2 conference chairman Reg Adams, managing director for Artikol noted, “As usual, these events will provide a unique opportunity for networking with high-level executives, industry analysts, scientists and engineers from a wide variety of countries and companies. The co-location will encourage a dynamic exchange of ideas and experiences with participants in other pigment sectors.”

“It will be exciting to hear the latest new research in pigment chemistry and manufacturing and how this will lead to new products in the future and their impact in established and new markets; plus have the opportunity to hear what the demands are for the future, both technically and commercially,” said Dr. Trevor Sayer, Managing Director of Expertas Ltd and a member of the conference advisory board. “Participants will have a unique opportunity through this Conference to update their understanding of global pigment markets and technology and be better informed when returning to their respective organizations. A Conference I shall not want to miss!”
