PARIS, Oct 17 (Reuters) - European stocks were seen mixed on Friday, pausing after this week's sharp losses and as Wall Street's sell-off was halted after macro data soothed fears about the U.S. economic outlook. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq ended mostly flat on Thursday, reversing early losses after data showed initial jobless claims fell to their lowest level in 14 years, and industrial output rose sharply in September.
