Anti-Bullying week is every week at Glama Gals

PRLog - Nov. 3, 2014 - VAUGHAN, Canada -- With Anti-Bullying week approaching in Canada, GLAMA Gal Tween Spa is making sure their pink message is heard loud and clear! With an alarming *38% of girls online reporting being bullied, compared with 26% of online boys, GLAMA Gals hopes that their online initiative & in-school anti-bullying sessions will help remind students of the proper use of social media to circumvent further bullying related incidents.

Owners Laura & Josie Cannone of GLAMA Gal Tween Spa have opened 7 locations across Ontario with the aim of empowering young girls to be confident, positive, leaders of CHANGE!

GLAMA stands for – Girls Leading And Motivating All together. “Our definition of a spa is quite different from what most people think a spa is. Most people think a visit to the spa involves receiving a simple manicure, pedicure, massage, or facial. NO! Here we are doing this differently. We offer all of that, but during each service we make it our priority to take care of a girl’s inner-self. Through our Oath, “Be Positive” community circle, and Social Media discussions, girls leave with a renewed sense of self...both on the inside and out.” – Laura Cannone, Owner of Glama Gals.

In 2007 Kids Help Phone administered a survey of 2,474 young people aged 13-15, where over 70% of respondents reported having been bullied online and 44% reported having bullied someone at least once. According to sister, Josie Cannone, “Having met so many girls over the last 8 years, we have learned that many kids are unaware that cyberspace is not personal.

Through our empowerment programs, we teach girls that whatever message they choose to put out there may have consequences that can be damaging to both themselves and others.”

During Canada’s Anti-Bullying Awareness Week (November 16-22, 2014), we invite you to come out to any of the following events to see how TWO sisters have cultivated a movement of PINK POSITIVE, CHANGE!

From November 16-22, 2014, we will be offering 4 Free Dynamic and Motivational Bullying Workshop Sessions. Each session will consist of -

-Motivating Opening Oath

-Hands On Creation of Positive Messages

-Sharing Circle of appropriate ways to use Social Media

-Discussing Cause & Effect scenarios

-Role Playing exercise.

* Also, the GLAMA GALS will be visiting schools across Ontario this week to offer this same program during the lunch hour.
