Oil companies plummet

Shares of oil companies BP (NYSE: BP) dropped $2.27 to close at $39.32, Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM) tumbled $3.94 to close at $90.54, Goodrich Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: GDP) plunged $3.15 to close at $6.05, Laredo Petroleum (NYSE: LPI) plummeted $5.27 to close at $10.45, Oasis Petroleum Inc. (NYSE: OAS) sank $6.86 to close at $18.38, SandRidge Energy Inc. (NYSE: SD) fell 99 cents to close at $2.81 and Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) lost 88 cents to close at $9.72 as crude oil price dropped.
