About Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering

We are one of 17 Engineering Research Centers supported by the National Science Foundation. Our headquarters are based at the University of Washington in Seattle, with core partners at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and San Diego State University. We work closely with industry partners to create technologies that are useful. We place an emphasis on education, offering neuroscience and neural engineering lessons for students ranging from kindergarten to high school, partnering with traditionally underrepresented students in STEM fields and offering summer research experiences for military veterans, teachers and students. We develop new courses for undergraduate and grad students, with an aim to inspire them. We also have a neuroethics team that works closely with researchers.
