Multi-disciplinary group to develop a pediatric application of Narvitas’ LapDome Laparoscopic Access Device
PRLog - March 31, 2015 - GALWAY, Ireland -- Narvitas Medical Devices Limited, a NUIG Business Innovation Center based medical device company today announced that it has become a member - and agreed to a development collaboration for a pediatric application of its LapDome Laparoscopic Access Device platform - with the Pediatric Device Center based in Minneapolis, MN. The Pediatric Device Center serves the medical community as a focal point for the development of advanced pediatric specialty medical devices.
The Pediatric Device Center coordinates device development by connecting device companies, engineering and development partners, and pediatric specialty physicians and care professionals.
Glenn Foley, Narvitas Medical Device Ltd.’s Chief Executive Officer stated, “In developing the LapDome Laparoscopic Access Device platform into the next standard of care, a pediatric specialty design was always on our minds. Pediatric laparoscopic surgery is a growing field and requires very specialized design inputs. The partnership with the Pediatric Device Center provides Narvitas with access to the expertise.”
The Pediatric Device Center’s members include 18 medical device and contract companies, and over 60 volunteers within engineering, research, clinical, and marketing.
