PMC Organometallix Announces E-coat Catalyst Expansion

PMC Organometallix will significantly expand catalyst production at its Carrollton, KY, manufacturing plant.

The expansion will significantly increase PMC’s production capacity for dibutyltin oxide (DBTO) and di-octyltin oxide (DOTO), key building blocks of the company’s FASCAT® line of catalysts.

“The global automotive market relies on FASCAT® catalysts for most e-coat applications,” said Dr. Matthew Stershic, Global General Manager, PMC Organometallix. “Our offerings to support our global catalyst customers include a full suite of technical and application services, broad product portfolio and a global sales and service infrastructure.”

“Our investment in this new capacity underscores PMC’s strong global position in this segment, and our commitment to support the growth of the global automotive coatings market,” Stershic added.

The new capacity is planned to come on stream in two phases. The initial phase of the expansion is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2015, with the balance of the project expected to be completed in early 2016.
