PRLog - May 6, 2015 - DETROIT -- On Friday, June 5, 2015 Detroit Lion captain Stephen Tulloch is continuing on the tradition of the annual Celebrity Softball Game in Dearborn, Michigan. This year, Tulloch will announce the surprise captain for the opposing team before the game keeping fans in suspense on the continued rivalry of offense vs defense out on the softball field. The game will take place at King Boring Field (15801 Michigan Ave, Dearborn, MI 48120) and will be under the lights with the gates opening at 5pm and the Home Run Derby at 6pm with the game immediately following.

Tulloch got involved in the community immediately upon landing in Detroit four years ago and has not slowed down since. He has recently launched his Operation 55 School Adoption Program adopting 55 schools across Detroit purchasing them the needed school supplies, technology and equipment for everyday learning and allowing the students to excel in the classroom. He has been the Walter Payton Man of the Year for the Detroit Lions for the past four years as well as nominated for the Byron Whizzer White Award for his community service in Detroit.

This event will be open to the public and will cost $10 to enter the park (children under 5 are free). The game will have concessions provided by Happy’s Pizza, face painting, giveaways from event partners and sponsors, music, a Detroit Lions Bounce House and opportunities to meet some of Detroit’s favorite athletes. A now yearly tradition for Lions fans to come meet their favorite players and have a fun family night together at the ballpark.

“This year is my fourth year putting on this game here in Detroit and to see it grow and more fans come every year is great, this year is really exciting for me coming back from injury and going into my 10th year in the NFL, I look forward to making a big impact on and off the field,” says Stephen Tulloch. “Thanks to people like Dr. Berkowitz and Michigan Hair Restoration we are able to put this big event on for the fans and the community again and I am grateful for their partnership not just at this game but throughout the whole season. We have already gotten into the schools and have been able to buy computers, laptops, tablets and other necessities so the money we raise here will help us complete these 55 wish lists.”

“I met Stephen two years ago and began to support the foundation throughout the season and really see the impact he is having in our community. My entire team at Michigan Hair Restoration really has enjoyed meeting all of the families and children that Stephen helps so we wanted to be sure to be a big part of the softball game this year and continue to help make a difference here in Metro Detroit,” says Dr. Berkowitz, Owner of Michigan Hair Restoration. “We know that by investing in our youth we will be able to make an impact for years to come.”

The week of June 5 is National Sun Awareness Week and in promoting sun safety throughout the summer, Michigan Hair Restoration will be giving away 555 custom Team Tulloch baseball hats to the first 555 people through the gates on June 5 at King Boring Field.

Participating athletes will include current and former Detroit Lions players, NFL players from various teams throughout the league, NBA and NHL players including Detroit Pistons and Red Wings along with local celebrities and media personalities. The Game will have concessions, music, giveaways, raffles and fun fan surprises throughout the day!

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Stephen Tulloch Foundation and Operation 55. Tickets are available at the gate for $10. Gates open at 5pm.
