Fresh off an exciting start to 2015 with his first Super Bowl commercial, Director Sam Macon of Radar Studios is at it again, this time partnering with Leo Burnett for Fifth Third Bank with an inventive spot entitled “Brand of Gina.”

“Gina” refers to recent college graduate Gina Harrison, an Iowa State University alum who has a degree in Kinesiology, and is taking part in Fifth Third Bank’s “Brand of You” program. This program will provide 1-on-1 career coaching to prospective job seekers, and will be giving away $1 Million dollars in job search training. Aiding in their quest is Director Sam Macon, who has crafted a unique commercial integrating the use of stylized practical sets and Dreamgirls-esque back-up singers who narrate Gina’s journey to employment with the song “Hire Gina.”

Fifth Third Bank found the perfect person to helm this spot in frequent collaborator, Director Sam Macon, who has experience directing both scripted pieces and documentary films, an attribute that proved invaluable as he worked with non-actress Gina Harrison on set. “Working with Sam was so much fun,” says Harrison. “I’ve never been on a set before, and he made my whole experience so comfortable that the acting was the easiest part.” “The hardest part,” says Harrison “were the multiple costume changes, and timing of all the effects. Director Macon’s experience as an Art Director fueled his inspiration in designing the look, and execution of the spot, which he hopes will grab the attention of the viewer, seemingly all in one take. “I wanted Fifth Third Bank to have a unique way of approaching young graduates looking for a job,” states Macon.
