MIAMI, FL / ACCESSWIRE / May 27, 2015 / Husband and wife duo Tunu and Yona Puri are proud to announce Chef Loris Navone as the Executive Chef of their coastal Italian concept, Tamarina, located in the heart of Brickell, Miami's booming financial district.
Celebrated chef, Loris Navone, former Chef de cuisine of Dolce Italian South Beach and winner of Bravo's Best New Restaurant, now helms the kitchen of the elegant Italian eatery. With over 25 years experience, Chef Navone brings to the table finesse and techniques developed through his Italian roots and culinary schooling.
Beginning at a young age, Chef Navone knew that cooking was what he wanted to do. By the age of six, Navone was learning the process of making pasta and ravioli under the influence of his grandmother. Following a brief stint studying to become an engineer, his gut extinct was to pursue culinary school. He attended Irfop Culinary School in Udine, Italy, before joining the kitchen at the Michellin-starred Hotel Roma.
Chef Navone also worked at the two Michellin-starred restaurant Antica Trattoria Boschetti in Italy before making his first stop in Miami. In 1999, Navone moved to Miami Beach to work at il Sole on Lincoln Road before spending the next five years working around the world and studying new culinary methods in France, Italy, and Singapore. After honing his craft, Navone came back to Miami to run the award winning pasta and risotto program at Casa Tua and later the Chef de cuisine of Dolce Italian.
A traditional Italian chef, Chef Navone comes to Tamarina with a refreshing take on Italian eats. Creating new dishes mixed with his influences of old and new, Navone adds his award-winning touch to the menu, which highlights an extensive selection of raw, and lightly cooked frutti di mare, the freshest oyster selection, and traditional pasta's and Italian dishes.
