PMTI Offers Preparatory Courses for CCR Candidates

PMTI plans to organize free webinars for every Project management enthusiasts who are aspiring to clear the PMP certification examinations. PMTI also proposes to offer re-examination fees for the candidates who fail to clear the exam in the first go, and also aids them in the preparation process for the same.

​PMTI, a reputed institute that offers project management training programs for students, and working professionals is offering a preparatory training program for candidates appearing for the Continuing Certification Requirements Systems(CCR) program. Through this course, the institute aims to reach out to professionals who want to renew their PMP certification.

The number of minimum professional development units(PDUs) in educational activities has increased and aligned with the above-mentioned skill areas in PMI Talent Triangle. On the other hand, the number of maximum PDUs for activities that give back to the profession has decreased. The existing online CCR system will be enhanced to make it more navigation friendly while claiming PDUs and tracking progress. Updates to CCR program and online CCR system will be implemented on 1 st December 2015. More details will be available as PMI transitions into a new CCR program.

Though the total number of PDU requirements for each 3-year PMP re-certification cycle is still 60; a few changes have been made to the sub-category of specific types of PDUs. PDUs on training and education will now have at least 35 PDUs and will be categorized as per three new skill areas of Technical Project Management, Leadership, and Strategic and Business Management. Each skill The area comes with at least 8 PDU.

The maximum PDU that a candidate can gain is by giving back to the profession category will be minimized to 25. One can earn a maximum of 8 for PDU category F(which is gained by working as a project manager). Existing PMP certification holders will earn less (8 PDU) by being a project manager. Rather they will have to earn at least 35 PDU through education and training. A PMP can still earn educational PDU (category A, B, and C) through PMI R.E.P, webinars, training and courses like before.

The skill areas that training and education addresses need to be distributed among ‘’ PMI Talent Triangle’’ with at least 8 PDU in each area. In case a single learning activity contains the component in more than a single area, then PMP can divide the PDU for activity up into parts for the areas(the minimum potion is 0.25 PDU).

From 1st December 2015, educational activities that are organized by PMI or PMI R.E.P will include details on the total PDUs that will have to be earned from the three skills areas.

Apart from CCR, PMTI also offers 4 day PMP Certification program in the Boot Camp format. Students appearing for the program have the option to take the appear for the certification exam on the fifth day. The training sessions are held by PMP certified instructors with more than 10 years of experience in different domains of project management. PMTI also offers students with a free online course to prequalify for the exam. It is optional. A candidate can take the exam within two weeks of completing classes.
