ADVANCE RIKO Launches Gas Transmission Rate Measurement System 'GTms-1 series'

Yokohama, Japan, Aug 31, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - ADVANCE RIKO, Inc. has developed Gas Transmission Rate Measurement System, 'GTms-1 series' that can measure gas transmission rate of high-barrier films used for flexible devices like organic EL panel or electronic paper. Its sale will start in September, 2015.

Background

Gas barrier films have been widely used as packaging for food and drink or sealing of electronic device. Among others, high-barrier films are increasingly popular to be used for flexible devices like organic EL panel or electronic paper. Gas transmission rate of these high-barrier films needs to be 10-6 g/m2/day or less, which is extremely difficult to measure as absolute amount. By mounting Standard Conductance Unit developed by AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology), ADVANCE RIKO has created a gas transmission rate measurement system that measures absolute amount of transmission rate with high sensitivity.

- By the use of Standard Conductance Unit, absolutely-corrected measurement data is available. - Transmission rate of water vapor: 10-6g /m2/day or less; Transmission rate of oxygen: 10-2cc/ m2/day or less- By the use of a mass spectrometer, other gases like O2 or N2 as well as water vapor are available. - Automatic-analysis software enables to analyze the data easily.
