Ken Giami & African Leadership Magazine Announce 100 Most Influential African Americans

WASHINGTON, DC (September 18, 2015)– The African Leadership Magazine, a division of ALG Strategy Group, today announced its 2015 list of the top 100 African American Outstanding Leaders.

President Barack Obama and Congressman John Lewis (D-Ga.) received special recognition for their outstanding leadership with emeritus awards. The award recipients are featured in the October issue of the African Leadership Magazine.

ALG Strategy Group Publisher & CEO Ken Giami said, “We are pleased to recognize these outstanding professionals for leadership not only in the U.S., but also around the world. They are role models that all Africans at home and across the globe can point to with pride. The combined scope of their influence touches every element of society.”

The honorees were singled out for accomplishments spanning 12 sectors: media and communications, education, entrepreneurship, science and technology, non-profit associations, law, religion, finance, health, government, business, sports and entertainment.

Those recognized include Republican presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, U.S. Senator Corey Booker (D-N.J.), athletes Serena Williams and Lebron James, Martin Luther King III, Professor Cornel West, physician and former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison, and film maker Spike Lee.

Former U.S. Sen. Edward Brooke of Massachusetts and former NAACP Chair and civil rights leader Julian Bond, both of whom died this year, received posthumous awards.
