ELBURN, Ill. - Oct. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- MA Center Chicago announced that it will host a two-day natural beekeeping seminar on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, 2015, led by honeybee expert Kerry Jehanne, who has been tending honeybees for over 14 years and was featured in the highly acclaimed 2011 documentary film Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us?

Whether you have a backyard, a city rooftop, or a large piece of land, you can have a dynamic, positive impact on the health and survival of honeybees, which are currently in crisis.  This seminar is geared toward nature enthusiasts and aspiring beekeepers.  Intuitive, natural, and bee-centered beekeeping methods that strengthen the unity of the hive and honor the honeybee will be emphasized. Topics will include the honeybee and its role in our food supply, the causes of honeybee decline, hive types and placement, ethical hive management techniques, strengthening the immunity and DNA of the honeybee population, biodynamic beekeeping practices, and providing bee forage and medicinal plants for bees.

“While it may feel remote, the global bee crisis affects us all,” said MA Center Director Brahmachari Shantamrita Chaitanya, “which is why interest in beekeeping has soared among novice and hobbyist beekeepers over recent years.”

“Attending our Regenerative Natural Beekeeping seminar October 17th and 18th is an excellent way to learn what you need to know to support honeybees,” continued Br. Shantamrita, “and we are delighted to have Kerry, who has a passion for teaching others about honeybees and beekeeping, sharing her extensive knowledge on this topic.”

Day one of the Regenerative Natural Beekeeping seminar is Saturday, October 17, 2015, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm and will focus on natural beekeeping. Day two of the seminar is Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and will focus on our interdependence with nature. The registration fee for both days is $140 per participant, which includes two lunches, refreshments, one dinner, one light breakfast, and dorm style accommodations for one night. Single day registration options are available. Register for one or both days online at http://bit.ly/1NcAwu3.
