Oct. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Savannah Volkswagen is thrilled to sponsor the Superhero Fun Run 5K, a family-friendly event devised to benefit the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Clubs. Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 24th at 9 a.m. for this event, which is being held at the Whitemarsh Preserve Trails on Highway 80 and Bryan Woods Road.
Proceeds of this event will directly benefit the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Clubs, which provides a safe haven for at-risk youth to learn and grow. Local police, firefighters, and military will also attend, to give kids a view into what a real life superhero looks like. Funds will be raised through registration, with early registration guaranteeing an awesome free t-shirt.
Savannah Volkswagen is devoted to the community, and always seeking new ways to get involved and lead the charge for positive change. The children of these clubs will not only have the opportunity to be cared for; they’ll be able to grasp their full potential and develop into productive members of the community.
This exciting event will host a 5K timed run/walk, as well as a ½ mile kids fun run—so the whole family can enjoy themselves. Awards will be given for overall men and women participants, and medals will be awarded for first, second, and third place for each age category. Additional entertainment will include a bounce house and music, while local sponsor vendors showcase what the Savannah area is all about.
We encourage people of all ages to come together as a community for the benefit of our youth, and dress up as your favorite superhero. With Halloween around the corner, costumes won’t be hard to come by.
