JMP Group Enhances Its Convertible and Equity-Linked Capital Markets Capabilities

JMP Group LLC (NYSE: JMP), an investment banking and alternative asset management firm, announced today that Forrest Koenig and Kevin McGuire have joined JMP Securities. Mr. Koenig is a managing director in investment banking with responsibility for leading convertible and equity-linked capital markets origination activities. Mr. McGuire is a director in convertible securities sales and trading. Both Mr. Koenig and Mr. McGuire are based in the firm’s San Francisco headquarters.

Prior to joining JMP Securities, Mr. Koenig was a managing director in the equity-linked origination group at Piper Jaffray, working in a capital markets capacity for eight years. He started at Piper Jaffray in 2004 as a quantitative risk analyst on the convertible sales and trading desk, where he concentrated on valuation, modeling and credit analysis. He began his Wall Street career at Citigroup Smith Barney. Mr. Koenig holds a BA in economics with minors in math and physics from the University of California, San Diego. He is a chartered financial analyst.

Prior to joining JMP Securities, Mr. McGuire was a managing director at BTIG for five years, with oversight of West Coast fixed income convertible sales. Mr. McGuire previously served in convertible securities sales and trading roles at Piper Jaffray, Jefferies, Robertson Stephens, Citigroup and Schroder Wertheim. He started his career at Paine Webber as a proprietary options trader in 1982. Mr. McGuire holds a BS in biology from The State University of New York.
