December Durable Goods Orders Plunge 5.1%

The Commerce Department reports durable goods orders were down 5.1% in December from the prior month, coming in worst than the estimate for a decline of 0.6%. Take out the transportation component and orders fell 1.2%. The estimate was for that part to decline 0.1%.
