Todd N. Hamilton Has Been Recognized Among the Top in His Industry by the Expert Network©

Hamilton​​​​​ outshines others in his field due to his extensive educational background, and numerous awards and recognitions. He graduated from Monroe County High School in 1982 with honors. After acceptance to Yale University in 1982, Hamilton decided to accept an academic and athletic scholarship to play baseball at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, where he was in the Freshman Honors Program. Hamilton ultimately completed his B.A. degree in Political Science and Corporate Finance at the University of Alabama in 1986, where he was a member of Theta Chi Social Fraternity and the Golden Key National Honor Society, as well as a Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honorary. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1989.

With over 25 years dedicated to law, Hamilton​​​​​ brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular to his many areas of specialization in trial law, the defense of employers, workers’ compensation, and wrongful discharge claims, products liability claims, as well as trucking litigation, medical and pharmacy malpractice cases, and other general insurance defense related matters. When asked what inspired him to pursue a career in law, Hamilton​​​​​ said:

"I happen to be from Monroeville, Alabama, which is famous as the setting of To Kill a Mockingbird. My mother literally grew up right down the street from Harper Lee. So I've always been drawn to practicing law because of that inspiration. Atticus Finch was one of my childhood heroes."

As a thought-leader in his industry, Hamilton is keenly aware of recent trends in trial law. In particular, he is paying attention to how changes in the insurance industry have affected the scope of his practice. He noted: 

"Things have changed dramatically in the entire field of insurance defense in the last twenty-five years. You don't have as many local companies that you deal with now. Most of the companies are based out of the major cities, New York, Atlanta, or others. There has been much consolidation within the property and casualty companies, with fewer local claims representatives, so in many instances you are dealing with people that you may not have developed a personal relationship over the years."

Hamilton is a member of the Birmingham and Alabama Bar Associations, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama and Southern District of Alabama. He is a frequent speaker for CLE Seminars on topics including workers' compensation, wrongful discharge, and trucking litigation.
