BOSTON - March 21, 2016 - PRLog -- The new 2016 Honda Civic, which has been awarded the 2016 North American Car of the Year Award, is now available in New England in the two-door coupe body style. The Sporty coupe went on sale this past week at New England Honda Dealers, while the 10th-generation Honda Civic Sedan has been on sale since earlier this year. The new 2016 Civic Coupe LX is priced at $19,050 MSRP* and is available in four trim levels and two engine options.
The 2016 Civic Coupe closely resembles last year's Honda Civic Coupe concept, which previewed the 10th generation. It uses a sleek fastback body style that is slightly shorter overall when compared to the standard four-door sedan. The Civic Coupe LX and EX trims get a 159 hp 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, while the EX-L and Touring trims both get the turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder, which makes 174 hp.
The Honda Civic Coupe has the same EPA estimates as the Civic Sedan: the 1.5L engine with continuously variable transmission is capable of up to an EPA-estimated 31 mpg city/41 mpg highway,** while the base 2.0L engine with continuously variable transmission is rated at 30 mpg city/41 mpg highway.**
The Civic Coupe also comes with many standard features, including a 5-inch infotainment display, rearview camera, USB port, Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, automatic head lights, and more. The Civic Coupe is also available with the Honda Sensing driver assistance and preventive safety system, which includes adaptive cruise control and forward collision and lane departure prevention systems.
The Honda Civic Coupe will likely be joined by a new Honda Civic hatchback later this year, and the Honda Civic Si and Civic Type R, two high-performance variants, sometime in 2017.
